Annual Report 2016-17

We are pleased to publish our Annual Report 2016-17. The report outlines a year where we continued to shine a spotlight upon people’s lived experiences of local care

Summary

The report highlights changes that are being made to services by our comprehensive focus on hospital discharge, maternity services and fertility treatment; and demonstrates how the public voice is influencing decisions being made by those who plan and run our care services.

Graham Hawkes, Chief Executive Officer, said:

“Our Annual Report shows it has been another busy, interesting year. We have been able to help, inform and support a lot of people this year and I am particularly pleased to see so many positive outcomes from our work.

It takes a real team effort to achieve the work outlined in our report and I would like to personally thank everybody who has contributed to Healthwatch Hillingdon this year. Especially to, all our volunteers, whose commitment and expertise has made a real difference, and to all those people who shared their stories with us.

The health system is currently looking at how it can deliver quality care, which is safe and financially sustainable for the future. I strongly feel that the report shows, if this is going to be achieved, the public need to be a key part of this conversation. They use services everyday. They know what is working well and what needs to be improved. Real change will only come about when we commit to listening to patients, their carers and families, and learn from their lived experiences.”
